This book explores the central question: what is praise and worship? It begins by examining the historical and cultural context in which early worshipers understood worship, then traces how those ideas developed from ancient Chaldean practices to Christian tradition.

Its aim is to help readers think more carefully about worship, understand its biblical and historical roots, and inspire a deeper pursuit of living as true worshipers.

Samuel carries a rare depth for his age, an old soul with a sincere love for theology, history, and the Word of God. I have watched him pursue truth beyond the surface for years. This book is not theory, it is the overflow of a life rooted in depth and devotion. At just 23, his voice carries a weight that is both authentic and needed.

Thoughtfully researched and beautifully written, this book takes us from the shallows of over familiarity and out into the the deep blue ocean of heavenly wonder. Addressing an urgent need to recover true authentic worship, this work will not only strengthen and bless the individual, but also empower the Body of Christ to shine His light ever more brightly unconquered by darkness. Samuel Smith is a friend of mine and I believe that what he wrote in this book is more than just empty words about worship but a manifestation of what is happening in his heart. In the days ahead, the Lord will continue to the give us clear language about worship and its function in the Church. I believe this is such a book. I spent the last 15 years of my life traveling the world teaching about worship, nothing brings me more joy than to see a new generation being raised up that will carry this message that is  so dear to the Lord to the finish line.
